One of the unique features of a Baptist church is “church autonomy.” That means each church has the right and the responsibility to decide how they will operate, how they will make decisions. No one else can determine that for them—not a denomination, bishop or king. Each Baptist church is free and autonomous.
With that in mind, Port Williams United Baptist Church has adopted the following Constitution and By-laws. They are not from on high. They were developed by a committee who worked over many months to describe how we operate. They are not eternal—these are the latest configuration and there is a vehicle to amend them as time and need dictate.
This is our current structure. We invite your reading, your comments, your questions
